Does Congrid+ sync in the background?
Currently, Congrid+ requires the app to be open and active for syncing to complete. If you switch to another app or the screen locks, the sync will pause and continue when you return to the app.
To ensure uninterrupted syncing:
- Keep the app open while downloading a project or syncing changes
- Disable auto-lock temporarily for larger downloads (Settings → Display → Screen timeout)
- Your data is always saved locally, so nothing is lost if sync is interrupted
This is a technical limitation of mobile operating systems - iOS and Android restrict what apps can do in the background to preserve battery life.
There are improvements we can make on our side, and we're working on it, but we can't promise a timeline yet.
Instructions for uninterrupted sync:
- Keep the app visible on screen - don't switch to other apps
- Disable auto-lock while downloading a project:
- iOS: Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never
- Android: Settings → Display → Screen timeout → 10 minutes (or max)
- Plug in the charger - prevents low battery mode which can throttle background activity
- Use WiFi - more stable for large downloads.
